3rd-Aug-2009 10:44 am - Landscaper Recommendations?
We are looking to have some landscaping done and would prefer to use a local company. Anyone have any recommendations?
I recently made a local site, www.MenuWall.com, which provides Menus, Hours, Location, Contact info and Reviews for all the restaurants in Sarasota (Bradenton coming soon)
I am still putting up a lot of menus, but the suite would could use more reviews.  I know a lot of people like to share their restaurant experiences.  If any of you would like to write reviews on MenuWall you can make a user account here (http://www.menuwall.com/signup) or just  add comments on the bottom of any restaurant page.  Feel free to have your reviews link back to your livejournal page or blog if you would like.

Also if anybody would like to contact me my email is Andrew@menuwall.com

So, if you haven't the news, Jannus Landing is a really bad situation right now. The owner/leaser/whatever, Jack, owes the Florida government over $200,000 in backed taxes.

What does that mean? If Jack cannot pay the money, it means the Florida government will take control of Jannus Landing and shut the venue down. That isn't good. They have already moved several shows to smaller venues, which means, shows will sell out sooner. Shows have been canceled. The reason why? They don't want bands to play at a venue owned by a crook.

What can we do? There isn't really much we could do. But, I do have a plan in which we can keep such a unique venue around. If we set up a PayPal account and try to get donations and as a state, area, fans, whatever we are, we can gather the money and pay the debt off for Jack.

But wait a minute. You say, why help a crook? Here is the twist to this. Once we bail out this criminal, we demand he sign the venue over to someone who not only can be trusted, but a good individual who can take over Jannus. So we bail Jack out, he signs the deed over. He gets no money for it, doesn't make any money from shows happening after that and he can go on with his life.

I just want to hear your opinions, concerns and whether or not you would donate, even just a small amount.

Let me know!
I am moving to Philly this summer so I need to find someone to sublet my apartment asap!! The lease runs through april 1st, 2010. it's a really cute place right at Osprey & 5th so you're literally a 5-10 minute walk to Main St! there's a really cute courtyard outside shared with other tenants, who never seem to make much use of it. utilities are split with upstairs tenants (this is the ground unit), so they're usually never that much. landlord is really cool and she accepts pets with a deposit! shared washer/dryer with other tenants! this is a really great place for someone single! kinda small, but where else are you gunna find a 1 bedroom downtown for $575/month?!?! somebody help me out here! i need to go!! e-mail or call (i never check this thing):

Go to http://www.pufmm.org/ and learn how to help do your part to allow Florida doctors to prescribe marijuana. Go to the take action page and print out the petition and send it in, all instructions are on the site. "The goal of this committee is to restore liberties to Floridians. We have the right to safe, affordable, and effective medication. We are collecting signatures on a petition to support a constitutional amendment that gives patients the right to grow, obtain, purchase and possess medical marijuana under a doctor's supervision. We need signatures from over 700,000 registered voters and donations exceeding $5 million. The deadline for the 2010 election ballot is February 1, 2010. We are encouraging a letter writing campaign to prompt the legislators to pass a bill giving Floridians these rights."

Donations are not nessesary but would help enormously, but the petition is a must we need as many signatures as possible. Even if you dont smoke pot please fill out the petition because there are people that need it.

"It works like no other drug. No pharmaceutical compound can imitate it’s healing properties. The most recent study indicates that marijuana can stop certain cancers from spreading. It has properties that protect the brain. In Parkinson's patients, it stops tremors and prevents further deterioration."

For what is it prescribed?

Cancer, Parkinson’s, Huntington's Disease, Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis, AIDs, chronic pain, glaucoma, hepatitis C, rheumatoid arthritis, HIV, epilepsy, Crohn's disease, anorexia, nail patella, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease), chronic nervous system disorders, cachexia or wasting syndrome, chronic or intractable pain, severe nausea, seizures, severe or persistent muscle spasms, diabetes mellitus, dystonia, fibromyalgia, gastrointestinal disorders, gliomas, hypertension, incontinence, MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphyloccus aureus), osteoporosis, pruritus, sleep apnea, Tourette's syndrome, migraine headaches, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, attention deficit disorder, bipolar disorder, menstrual cramps and excessive bleeding, diarrhea, tuberculosis, elephantiasis, asthma, hemorrhoids, anemia, rabies, insomnia.

Thought the SRQ might be interested in a really friendly deal going on with the Manatee Planned Parenthood clinic. The CDC just released research that says that 1 in 4 young women has an STD-- when was the last time you checked your STD status?

Until May 30, anyone 25 or under can get an instant result HIV test at the Manatee clinic for $5. The deal also comes with a urine-sample lab test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. This batch of tests is usually $55, so this is a really deep discount. No blood, no needles, and you get your results in 20 minutes instead of 3 weeks.

If you've been waiting to get tested and/or hate the lines at the Health Department, make an appointment here:

or call 941.567.3800. Make sure to tell them it's "GYT" when you're making the appointment to get the special rate.

I know this is going to sound strange, but does anyone know anyone who went through a divorce in Sarasota County? I am trying to confirm that divorce records (or atleast references to them existing) are in their online database.

If you know any names, please plut them into the website here: http://www.clerk.co.sarasota.fl.us/oprapp/oprinq.asp and let me know if anything turns up on the divorce itself.

Thank you!

So my car took a huge crap and broke on me. It's not really fixable.

I was wondering if anyone had a good reliable car for lots of driving. I live in Venice but travel to Sarasota for work. Then I do some part time work at concerts around FL, mainly Orlando and St. Pete. Of course, money would be an issue and I can't give much up front or even all of it, but will be very sturdy on payments.

Know anyone who has one or even you, just drop me a line.

The dude who blows glass for Rocketman is hurting for cash. Custom pieces at discounted prices.

This guy does some insane shit for real.

Tobacco use only guys ;]
